Bird Records App for Aviaries
A bird records app is only as useful as how fast you can find one bird in it. Pakhal keeps one profile per bird — everything a breeder needs to identify, place and account for it — and makes the whole flock searchable and filterable in seconds, grouped by species the way most aviaries are actually laid out, whether you're checking one bird's history or reviewing your entire flock at once.
A ring number that's never ambiguous
Every home-bred bird's ring ID is auto-prefixed with your own aviary code and hatch year, generated from your profile, so your printed rings and your digital records use exactly the same identifier from day one. Purchased birds can carry your prefix too, for consistency across your whole flock.
Species, mutations and sex, recorded properly
Pick from a real species catalogue with mutation genetics built in per species, or add a species that isn't listed yet for your own records — and ask to have it added permanently for every breeder using Pakhal. Visual and split mutations are recorded against each bird individually, not lumped into free-text notes.
Origin and status, so your flock count is real
Every bird is marked bred-here or purchased, with a status — active, sold, deceased, on loan — so your total bird count reflects what's actually in your aviary today, not everything you've ever typed in. Purchased birds also carry seller details and a purchase price, which can become a matching expense automatically.
Cage assignment that stays current
Each bird carries a cage or nest-box number you update whenever a bird moves, so you can answer "what's in cage 12" as easily as "where is this bird" — both directions, from the same record.
Search and filter the way a breeder thinks
Find a bird by ring number, species, mutation, sex, cage or status in seconds. No spreadsheet formulas, no scrolling a printed logbook — just the answer, immediately, on your phone.
Your data stays yours
Import your existing records from a spreadsheet to get started, or export your full flock at any time. A bird records app should never lock your own records in.
Records for birds that don't fit the usual form
A chick you haven't ringed yet, or a bought bird whose seller you never got a name from, shouldn't stop you recording it. Pakhal lets you mark a bird as not yet ringed or its seller as unknown, so an incomplete record still gets entered today instead of waiting until every field is filled in.
Notes for whatever a dropdown doesn't cover
Every bird has a free-text notes field alongside its structured record, for the detail that doesn't fit a fixed set of options — a custom mutation you haven't seen named elsewhere, a health quirk, or anything else worth remembering about that specific bird.
